Introduction:
The Civil Servants represent the
Government and they must follow a particular behavior before the public so that
the behavior does not embrace the Government.
There are conduct rules which are
to be followed by each Civil Servant while performing his duty. The conduct
rules reduce the scope of corruption and making of influence to get personal
benefits. If a Civil Servant does not follow the conduct rules, disciplinary
action may be taken against him by the authorities concerned and may be awarded
him minor or major penalties.

Meaning of Conduct:
According to Oxford Dictionary
conduct means, the manner in which a person behaves especially in a particular
place or situation. In other words, the manner in which an organization or
activity is managed.
The Laws Regarding Conduct Of C.S:
According to section (15) of C.S.A
1973, the conduct of a Civil Servant shall be regulated by rules made. Or
instructions issued by the Government or a prescribed authority, whether
generally or in respect of specified groups or classes of Civil servants.
Generally, Principles of Conduct Rules:
The Civil Servants are expected to
maintain the absolute integrity and devotion to duty. They should not do
anything that is unbecoming of a Government employee. Civil Servants shall
perform their duties to the best of their best of their abilities and follow impartiality
the Government policies and rules.
Violation of Conduct Rules:
Whenever, the Civil Servant, who
violates the conduct rules, while performing his duty, he may be subjected to
disciplinary action and may be punished with major or minor penalties.
Conclusion:
It can be concluded that the conduct rules prescribed the
general rules of behavior of a Civil Servant which are to be followed in the
exercise of his duty, the policies rules, and regulations are binding upon the
Civil Servant to be observed in the performance of duty.
